Do you know

I'm really not sure, if I'd made it clear before, but I love Elmo. Mom was wondering what goes on in my head. I'll be eating dinner and all of a sudden scream, "Lala." So here's a little Halloween preview. Mom thought she should feed my Elmo obsession by allowing me to BECOME Elmo. That's healthy parenting, right?
Just to set the record straight, Mom hasn't been teaching me American Sign Language. I teach myself. Here I am with my flash cards. I learned work, thank you, please, chicken and wait. That brings my ASL vocab to more than 20. And I try to sign the alphabet (that's one thing I need Mom to do with me still).

My Friday

Today I spent the whole day with Mom. I ran her around the house, but I was also very helpful. I love to sweep up the kitchen, which is good, because I also like to throw my meals on the floor.

Mom turned her back to get the camera and I snuck into my room to open the sock drawer. Mom stores my passies in here during the day. I'm teething like a champ so I have been jonesin' for a passie all day. Sometimes I even fake hurting myself so I can cry and then ask for the passie. I must get my acting genes from somewhere! (Auntie Dana? Dad?)
Aunt Helen cam for a visit yesterday. She brought me these neat pots and pans. I like putting stuff in the pot.
This is my pop-out-piece nativity book. It tells the story of Christmas. Aunt Helen gave it to me last year and I love to read it and pop out the pieces. Now I can even put them back in by myself (I also can tell you the whole story of Mary and Joseph and Jesus and the animals (moooooooo cow), but you have to speak Page to understand).

Auntie Dana

Hi Auntie Dana:

Mom told me she talked to you when she went shopping all by herself yesterday (a not fruitful experience as you know, but she did buy me more Lala, Oscar, Big Bird and Cookie finger paint for the bathtub). I just wanted to say that I love you! Mom said when I go to bed she will put up a new picture of me. She has a little video too, but I soft of broke the camera and she will have to fix it before she posts.

Bedtime Procrastination

I am becoming an expert at bedtime procrastination. Here's how it works. First I throw a fit while Mom tries to put on PJs. Then I calm down for a millisecond. Next I run to the windows and call for Mom to close the blinds. Then I throw a fit while Dad tries to help me brush my teeth. Next I pick out 10 or 100 books to read. See below.
Then I kiss Mom. Then I kiss and hug Dad. Then I hug Mom. Then I kiss Mom. Then I kiss and hug Dad. Then I hug Mom. Then I kiss Mom. Then I kiss and hug Dad. Then I hug Mom. Then I kiss Mom. Then I kiss and hug Dad. Then I hug Mom. Then I kiss Mom. Then I kiss and hug Dad. Then I hug Mom. Then I kiss Mom. Then I kiss and hug Dad. Then I hug Mom.

Finally I go into the bed where, acutally I am very happy because that's where my passies live.
Good Night.

Just another Tuesday at the farm

Not really! We don't always go to the farm on Tuesday. Mom and I pick up groceries from the Golden earthworm farm on Thursdays, but the groceries come to Astoria, Queens on the farm truck. Mom and Dad had off from work on Tuesday and we went to a fruit farm named Wickam's. Mr. Wickam drove us in a wagon on the back of his tractor to a field full of apple trees.
Daddy picked some apples. And I had to eat one right away. My grandpa taught me this when I was just a little baby, you know.
Then I wanted to try apple picking myself. I might look into this as a career. Professional apple picker at your service (I just need my tall Dad to come along with me).
Oh, there were pumpkins too. The pumpkin patch was like a maze with all the vines popping out trying to trip me.
Look at how I have grown from last year's farm adventure!

Have I Mentioned...

That I love Elmo?

And that sock monkey Mom made for me isn't bad either. It holds my precious passies in the crib at night.

Elmo a.k.a. LaLa

I am obsessed with Elmo. So much so that anything red is now called LaLa. I yell it out at people wearing red on the street, at kids on the playground, at the red fish toy I have in the bath. Last week I was running in the house, which is another one of my obsessions and I tripped over the saddle between my room and Mom and Dad's room. I hurt my lip and it took three ice pops to stop the bleeding. Well, Mom felt bad for me, so when we went for a walk that afternoon, I saw this Elmo blanket hanging from the ceiling of the store and HAD to have it. I yelled LALA LALA LALA through the store until Mom found the blanket and gave it to me to hold. I strolled all the way down Myrtle Avenue holding onto it for dear life.
Yesterday I was running again and this time I tripped over the saddle going into the kitchen. I did a number on my head when it collided with the dishwasher. Do you like my LaLa bandaid?

Big Boy

My daddy is getting so slim I thought for sure I would fit in his shirts by now ! I am a big boy, you know.

Mmmm Nutella

Mom and Dad's friends Rich and Christy have a bunny named Nutella. I didn't eat her. I swear it.

18-month Stats

Hey Everyone!

Last week I went to the doctor for my check-up. Only one shot this time and I didn't even wince when the doctor put the needle in my arm! Here's the lowdown:

Height: 35 inches -- that's off the charts!
Weight: 29 pounds -- Mom thinks Dr. Berger said 85th percentile
and Mom doesn't remember the head...she says she doesn't understand why it matters unless she wanted to buy me a cool Stetson hat.

My new favorite food is Nutella. Pictures of my not-so-neat eating will be up soon.

See you in September...

This is my new fish. It is a betta fish. It doesn't have a name yet. Any suggestions?

This is a special face I make.
Mom or momma as I call her now has a nice friend at work named Cathy. She gave me this fire chief towel. Isn't it cool?

These are my lobster PJs. They are a 3T. My feet are nowhere near the footies. Mom thinks I am taller than I really am!

My friend Max

Max came to visit late in August. Mom and Max's parents, Meri and Ed, and me and Max played in my room for the afternoon. I showed Max how to take every toy out of the toybox and take EVERY book off the book shelf. Max's Dad was not too happy about me sharing this skill.
You can keep up with Max by clicking on his blog. Here he is hanging out with me on Mom and Dad's bed.

It's all happening at the Zoo

The Queens Zoo, that is. Now, the Queens Zoo is the much tinier stepsister to the fabulous Bronx Zoo, but for me, it was just fine.

I got to check out all kinds of animals that live in the Americas. Like the Bald Eagle, and my favorite...Brown Bear, Brown Bear!

And what trip outside in the 5 boroughs would be complete without a pigeon?

There was a petting zoo, but I got tired after watching all those animals sleeping and relaxing, so Mom and Dad looked at the llamas and chickens and goats and sheep, but I napped.

August Highlights

When Mom and Dad and I got back from Hilton Head, we just didn't want to hang in Queens so after a quick trip to the Forest Park Carousel, we packed the car and headed upstate. Lake Placid was AWESOME! There was so much sun and the weather was perfect.
I played with my friend Brown Bear.

We went to the park every single day and even went swimming in Mirror Lake.

Mom and Dad got in a quick game of tennis while I napped in the stroller. I strutted around the court like Andre Agassi when I woke up.

Mom and Dad took me to dinner at the Hungry Trout where I ate delicious food and I was so well behaved! The waitress really liked me. She even gave me crayons, which I didn't try to eat.

Visiting Virginia

On the way home from Hilton Head, we stopped a few times for visiting. First we visited Pedro at South of the Border. He is very tall.
Then we stopped in Richmond and visited Dad's friend Gary from college. He got married this year and his wife Megan is very nice. She played with me a lot.

Then we visited Mom's cousin Laura. Laura is mom to Caroline and most recently Julia. Caroline and I played together. We went to the park and played with Caroline's toys. Julia did a lot of sleeping, but she is only 2 weeks old. Caoline and I took a bath in the GIANT tub. We were laughing so much! Caroline even scrubbed my back for me.
Here we are with Julia. I tried to rock her in the bouncy chair, but I am still getting the hang of "gentle!"
