The National Air and Space Museum near Dulles Airport was the family destination on Sunday. Parker and I wore our Blast Off! t-shirts from Mommy's friend Sue. We were totally hip. The museum is quite hip too. Not only were there big oi' jet airliners to see, but there were stealth airliners and helicopters and a real space shuttle! Mom was totally blown away by standing so close to something that actaully flew in outer space.
Also, there was the Enola Gay. For those of you who aren't history buffs like me, the Enola Gay is the B-29 superfortress bomber that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima on July 6, 1945, just before the end of World War II.
My cousins Caroline and Julia met us at the museum. I hadn't seen them in a long time, but it only took me one minute to grab Caroline by the hand to show her around. Julia was sitting in the stroller so I didn't get to grab her hand.
I like holding hands, just not with Mommy and Daddy, especially if we have to cross the street, bacause I think I am a big boy!
The space shuttle Enterprise was Mommy's favorite part.
Exhibits around the space shuttle showed stuff that astronauts eat and wear and even some of the experiments they did. I liked the spider named Anita that went into space in 1973 so scientists could see if she would spin a web. She did! Her web was even there to prove it. Anita was there too, but she was floating in some weird liquid.
Mom was so happy to see her cousin Laura. She always gets sad when we have to leave because she wishes she lived closer to her, but at least she lives close to Liam and Lucas so we get to see them!
We had such a nice time with everyone. On Monday, when it was time to leave I cried and cried. Liam and Lucas are coming up to New York (with Aunt Shannon and Uncle David) in less than two weeks. I can't wait!!!!!
